REMEMBERING THEM
SUMMARY:
Remembering them explores the objects, documents, images and personal stories within the Hurstville Museum & Gallery’s Anzac exhibition, ‘Remembering them: People of St George & the First World War.’ This exhibition provides a useful overview of the First World War and the experiences of local soldiers. Some of the objects on display were family treasures, preciously kept and passed down for generations, and loaned exclusively to Hurstville Museum & Gallery. This program gives students the opportunity to access private collections and learn about local servicemen through their personal possessions and memories. Students learn through group work and listening, reading and comprehension activities using the ‘Remembering them’ virtual exhibition.
